In his more than a decade-long career, Garcia views his art as a form of communication with his early works focusing on his own life experiences. His large-scale paintings act like a diary entry in painting form, showing glimpses of his background from his prior work experience as an overseas Filipino worker in the Middle East to his spiritual awakening in a foreign land.<br /><br />\nEarly in his career, Garcia posed a question before he started painting, stating that he aimed to answer the question in his work. This led to a collection of deeply personal paintings, the landscape transforming into allusions for the human psyche.<br /><br />\nIn this particular lot, Children Along the Narrow Road, Garcia depicts a narrow road in full bloom with three children drawn at the forefront of the painting. The work shows his signature earthy color palette with pops of green and yellow, emulating a warm and vibrant atmosphere that reminds its viewers of childhood nostalgia.
