Blending his recognizable color palette with his cubist style, Zalameda\nmanages to translate the common Filipino themes into refreshing reinterpretations. This lot in hand uses bright light pink, blue, and green to depict the subject of the painting: three young women. These women, dressed in traditional Filipina attire with a handkerchief wrapped around their heads, appear to be talking animatedly beside a river. Light pink flowers surround the women, and in Zalameda’s masterful hands, the scene is transformed into the simple countryside life.
