He studied in places like the Philippines, the United States, France, and Mexico and he draws inspirations wherever he can get them. He is best known for his cubist art style but his early works show his experimentation with abstraction. In this series of work entitled Landscape I and Landscape II, Zalameda uses complementary color schemes and sweeping brush strokes to create a harmonious collection. Ever the impressive artist, Zalameda was an awardee of the Chevalier des Artes et Lettres honor from the French government and the Presidential Medal of Merit from the former Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
