Born in 1934, Olazo was able to enroll himself in the University of Santo Tomas’ department of Fine Arts in 1959 and, as luck would have it, found himself in the midst of the rising modernist movement. He had talents like Victorio Edades and Diosdado Lorenzo as professors and upcoming talents like Ang Kiukok and Angelito Antonio, to name a few, as contemporaries.

In these sketches, Olazo’s mastery in anatomy is displayed. The years prior to the release of this work saw Olazo holding multiple shows – with a notable exhibit entitled NUDE in 1980, featuring esteemed artists Vicente Manansala, Agustin Goy, and Ephraim Samson.
