Using soft, smudged colors, the bodies look almost psychedelic and otherworldly. In his masterful hands, the women’s bodies are drawn\nin sensuous shapes and curves, combining colors and shapes to bring this artwork through life as though peering through hazy and vivacious glasses. Art critics have described Nuyda’s art as “poetic” and as one looks at Nude, it is not hard to wax poetic and get lost in the soft misty artwork.

\nNuyda received his Fine Arts degree from the University of Santo Tomas in 1966 and was an early recipient of the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ Thirteen Artists Award in 1972.
