Using different shades of brown, Nuyda depicts an almost-apocalyptic landscape with the dry hot sands in front and the almost endless clear skies. His work, much like most of his abstractions, toe the line between dream and reality; between real and surreal; between the beauty and the barren.

Nuyda is among the early recipients of the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ Thirteen Artists Award in 1972 as well as the co-founder of the formid able Saturday Group of Artists.
