Along with the other\nMabini Artists, he aspired to preserve the traditional art influences of the\ncountry. The works of Galvez can be classified into four periods. The first\nperiod dates from the 1930s until 1948, often referred to as his Classical\nPeriod - it is where he produced mainly genres and landscapes that were\nconceived and done in rigorous impasto. His second period, from 1949\nto 1952, encompasses his decorative phase with his use of the classical\nskills in the creation of landscapes, all correct in terms of technique and\nstructure but no longer showing the vigor of his early period. In the third\nperiod, from 1953 to 1965, he underwent an experimental phase with\nSemi-abstraction, Neorealist Expressionism, and Cubism. His fourth period\nbegan around 1967 when he returned to Representational Art, the style\nhe pursued until his death.
