A protégé of the late Jose Joya — it was from Joya along with other mentors such as Constancio Bernardo and  Dr. Rod Paras-Perez came the inspiration, and the belief that painting is a lifetime vocation — Wilwayco’s creativity evidently shines through, flaunting his very own aesthetic. His thick, dynamic use of paint has allowed him to produce colorful textured plains charged with emotions.<br /><br /> Characterized by splashes, smears, drips, and splatters of paint that converges in an orchestrated manner, Wilwayco’s very expressive approach to his art is akin to that of water in motion. Calming in a sense, yet still greatly evocative, a rhythmic organic growth emerges from the rush of waves charged by whimsical, quirky lines and traces of elegant motifs.
