His passion for the arts led him to foreign lands, first in the US and then to the heart of the art world, France. However, during his early years in France, he was caught up in harrowing conditions, such as the Great Depression and World War II. Thus, his works revolved around these social conditions. After the war, he settled in Plestin-les-Gr&eacute;ves, which became the subject of his subsequent paintings, for it offers a magnificent landscape.</p>\n<p>Vitalis&rsquo;s Seascape is a captivating masterpiece that adheres to post- impressionism, with blues and yellows dominating his palette. His unique pointillism style is highly evident in this oil painting, a harmonious blend of carefully thought-out daubs of bright colors in varying tints and shades. Here, the artist portrayed a serene image of the calm waters cradling two boats by the shore and a clear blue sky over the horizon. As such, Vitalis&rsquo;s excellent brushwork and profound understanding of color and space are on full display in this painting, enlivening his image with daubs of paint and making expert use of every space, leaving no part of the canvas uncolored.
