Born in the artistic town of Paete, Laguna, Baldemor’s works echo the grassroots where he came from and the nostalgia that comes within.
\n

In the 1970s, Baldemor began to develop his brand of art, one that heavily relies on his rural memories. This 1976 White Trunks is evidence of that. In vibrant, vivid yellows, Baldemor depicts a two-story house typical of the provinces. The highlight of the piece, however, is an old tree snaking from behind the house. It signifies the permanence of the house — this place has been passed down from generation to generation, and so, it will stand the test of time.
