Known for his innovative and intuitive colors, Nuyda credits that vision to the butterflies and the almost otherworldly hues of their wings. These prints and etchings portray Nuyda’s love for the butterflies – his fascination later elevated into formal studies, with his formation of the FilKulisap in 1993 to scientifically discuss his findings with his fellow Filipino lepidopterist. Throughout his career, he has also named over a hundred endemic sub-species and new species, making him a foremost figure in Philippine lepidopterology.
