In purposeful yet loose strokes of acrylic, Liongoren’s work, like many minimalist works that came before and after it, holds a multitude of questions within it and holds its answers only for the most curious. He shifts between varying degrees of abstraction and figuration, creating a truly unique sense of style that evolved throughout the years. This particular piece, for instance, spoke to his innate sense of minimalism, and the stories that sprang from its silence. The works of Liongoren can be treated as points in a matrix of style but they are tied together by one similarity – the artist’s penchant for storytelling.
