This milestone event opened several opportunities for Ed, gaining substantial recognition and firmly establishing his name in the local and international art scene. Among the materials he experimented with, steel is one of the common and ideal choices for sculpting owing to its malleability and durability. However, Castrillo’s steel works undergo an additional process to maintain and preserve their quality. This process is known as chrome plating, wherein the steel is coated with a thin layer of chromium, which acts as a protective barrier that shields the base material from corrosion and enhances the longevity and durability of his works.
