Most of his works lie between painting and sculpture, such as Owl and Fish 1. These are created by incising and hammering on the aluminum sheet to raise geometric shapes from the surface and then painting it with acrylic to emphasize the subject and image formed. This technique, influenced by the anting-anting (amulet) and artist Lamberto Hechanova, would later become his signature, effectively establishing his name in the Philippine art scene. Additionally, Ramboyong was credited as the first artist to use acrylic and oil on aluminum sheets.
