Napay originally worked with oil and acrylic paints,\nbut developed an adverse allergy to the materials forcing\nhim to abandon the medium. While recovering, he drew\ninspiration from his mother, who was a seamstress at\nthe time. Thus Napay, as a way of continuing his artistic\npractice without sacrificing his overall health and safety,\nbegan to work with threads and fabrics. Eventually,\nNapay would create pioneering pieces that utilized the\nmeticulous physicality of fabrics to create jaw-dropping\nthat maintained their painterly quality. His chosen medium\nand material also adds a novel level of dimensionality that\nwould have otherwise been absent if he had limited himself\nto traditional paints and oils. This unique aspect also allows\nviewers to interact and approach his work on a much deeper\nand profound level.\nNapay graduated from Eulogio Amang Rodriguez Institute\nof Science and Technology with a degree in Fine Arts.
