The piece Form of Amusements refers to a series of paintings that depict Luz’s fascination with the movements and energy of carnivals, illustrating it through perfectly illustrated lines and perfect circles, showcasing his preference for linear and geometric abstraction as his signature art style. Like the other acrylic paintings in the series, the featured piece, Forms of Amusement I, illustrates the same subject matter by including straight lines and circles, some connected with each other to simulate the movements of a working rollercoaster or any form of amusement rides as seen inside a carnival. The color palette, on the other hand, by using the color white for lines while utilizing black for background and red for ground, Luz simulates his preference to strip down his subjects to the barest essence, simulating Zen sensibility. Showcasing Luz’s consistency and discipline.
