Moving there in 1925, the next decades were steeped in his artistic inclinations – by the 1930s, he fell in with the “Golden Section” of Puteaux, whose members had a particularly great influence on his oeuvre. This 1955 work, done just a few years shy of his relocation to another town, is emblematic of his French inspiration. It is vivid and vibrant, the colors fitting for the City of Love and Art. Through its erratic brush strokes, Vitalis’s abstract work is a whirlwind of love and light; France, in all her beauty.
