Juvenal Sanso's featured landscape piece reflects the artist's recurring theme relating to growth and recovery from dystopia. He was known for shifting from his somber, dark, and expressionistic works toward more peaceful and romantic landscapes influenced by European sceneries and aesthetics, particularly from his time in France and Spain, all blending into a meditative and personal sensibility.
Sanso's illustration of the landscape piece portrays a serene and meditative image of a green, lush field punctuated by stone walls and vertical trees, while the sun glows orange as it bleeds to the horizon, the skies, and the green terrain. The use of earthy green and warm yellow tones creates a mood of nostalgia and peace for anyone who gazes upon it. Highlighting the landscape's somber mood
The barren green landscape is shown in the piece, together with the peaceful atmosphere of the golden horizon. The lush growth of the trees, which provides the scene of the piece a meditative quality that mimics a place that blurs between reality and a dream, as well as the diffusion of the sunlight, evokes a timeless and ethereal mood. In his own meditative and atmospheric fashion, Sanso had provided his piece with a magnificent, serene, and dream like landscape piece that gives its viewers a unique and contemplative experience.
