The paintings depict a faceted view from an elevated platform (possibly from a rooftop or balcony) overseeing Plestin-les-Grèves. A towering structure, the Church of St. Efflam (\"Église Saint-Efflam\" in French), a town-square church built in the 15th century and where the tomb of its namesake was housed, stands tall in the middle of the landscape, surrounded by small houses and establishments. Vitalis employs a luminous color palette to give life to the canvas, creating works that depicted the ambiance of post-war Parisian life. These works are most likely two study pieces (bocetos), considering their small dimensions and the identical subject matter.
