After decades of exploration and experimentation with several materials, subjects, and techniques, the carnival theme found its way back to Luz's artistic portfolio. Black and White Quartet features a group of people engaged in a passionate performance. Despite the absence of his then-vibrant palette, the artist's skilled precision and mastery of the human form allow him to capture the radiance brought by the quartet. Essentially simplistic, Arturo Luz's compositions bear a tinge of finesse, earning him a place among the most sought-after Filipino artists.
