His work Lavanderas reflects one of the most common scenes of everyday rural life, as he most often features Filipinothemed subjects in his pieces of art, highlighting his Filipino upbringing. The piece depicts three women holding a portion of a large white cloth that expands to the lower part of the canvas, reflecting one of the daily rural scenes Zalameda had observed during his everyday life in his hometown, Lucban, Quezon.
