In homage to many overseas Filipino workers, Cruise to Nowhere focuses on a group of four musicians playing on a cruise. Each armed with instruments of their choice, their looming figures occupy almost every square inch of the canvas, with only a sliver of space to show the window overlooking the sea. There is something so humble in this picturesque scene – through shades of warm, earthy brown throughout the palette, Anthony Palomo’s Cruise to Nowhere shows the humility in the glamour of life, a hint of home in this fantastical scene.
