The floralscape piece serves as a form of celebration for the renewal and vitality of spring. An eternal blossoming that's unbound by any season or gravity.

The work previews a tall and large cluster of tapering flowers rising from the bed of ashen blooms in the foreground. The marine blue background is also striking in the image, implying the growth of flowers rooted in the boundless space. It has taken \"root\" and will continue to grow endlessly—a perfect tribute for spring. The flowers are also rendered with a combination of details and blends. With the petals and buds being in precise detail, yet when looking at the distance, all petals merge into a larger organic entity of spring—a technique that blurs the line between realism and abstraction.

What's also interesting in this piece is the use of moody colors from what is supposed to be a \"lively\" subject, contrasting with the hopeful renewal that the term \"spring\" should emanate. It captures a form of growth and renewal despite the empty environment in which it found itself, which fits within Sanso's mature period works. It hints at the artist's continuous recovery from the experience of growing up during the Second World War, two decades before the creation of this art piece. As the artist had said in his interview in Mexico, \"The effects of war are lasting and the wounds will never heal [...] It's like living atop of a volcano or quicksand, never knowing whether one will topple or not. For me, art has been the only escape from neurosis...\" (Mark John Castañeda)","lot_group":"PAINTING","lot_details_html":null,"alias":null,"hp":3400000,"bp":0.2016,"isWithdrawn":0,"accounting_hp":3400000,"userBid":null,"isPaid":0,"userId":22,"lot_status":"SOLD","isDone":1,"bid_history_id":null,"reserve_price":null,"hammer_price":4085440,"fav":0},"image":[{"id":61954,"img_url":"https://leongallery.sgp1.digitaloceanspaces.com/v2/auction/116/150/lot/44.jpg","isFeatured":1},{"id":62456,"img_url":"https://leongallery.sgp1.digitaloceanspaces.com/v2/auction/116/150/lot/44d.jpg","isFeatured":0},{"id":62453,"img_url":"https://leongallery.sgp1.digitaloceanspaces.com/v2/auction/116/150/lot/44b.jpg","isFeatured":0},{"id":62451,"img_url":"https://leongallery.sgp1.digitaloceanspaces.com/v2/auction/116/150/lot/44c.jpg","isFeatured":0},{"id":62450,"img_url":"https://leongallery.sgp1.digitaloceanspaces.com/v2/auction/116/150/lot/44a.jpg","isFeatured":0}]},"increment":[2200000,2400000,2600000,2800000,3000000,3200000,3400000,3600000,3800000,4000000,4200000,4400000,4600000,4800000,5000000,5500000,6000000,6500000,7000000,7500000,8000000,8500000,9000000,9500000,10000000,11000000,12000000,13000000,14000000,15000000,16000000,17000000,18000000,19000000,20000000],"prev":43,"next":45,"count_bid":0,"bid_history":[],"tokenExpired":1}
