Created in 1999, the piece explores everyday experiences and metaphorical visual narratives through the depiction of a man seemingly repenting as it was being grabbed by a tall, grotesque figure with many limbs while he stands at a passage into the unknown. Above is a single bell that hangs still. Upon observing the piece, it becomes evident that the art piece explores inner conflict, particularly the struggle to confront one's inner guilt or conscience. The grotesque figure serves as the judge, while the bell outside the archway symbolizes ritual, judgment, or spiritual awakening. Justiniani perfected the pieces' subject matter by mimicking the dreadful feeling of facing one's fear and conscience—dark, haunting, and terrifying, yet necessary for one's growth.
