A significant portion of his oeuvre is reserved for dogs. Often depicted snarling and growling, Ang’s dogs are far from being man’s best friend; instead, they are intense, often territorial in their pursuit of personal space.

With this Dog, Ang depicts the animal without its human by its side. An artist deeply in touch with his surroundings and emotions, one can look at his dog paintings and see the care he put into them. Once looking after at least three dogs in his lifetime, Ang’s dogs are a culmination of the years he spent caring for them, transformed through his deft eye for detail.
