While he mainly focuses on mythical creatures, especially the Tikbalang, he also explored the topics of religion, history, and sundry images of the Filipino people, proudly presenting his beloved country’s culture and heritage in his works. Saprid’s unwavering dedication is evident in his meticulous approach to crafting, especially in his metalworks. But just like any other artist, he started his artistic journey by drawing and painting, in which he excels as well.

Landscape is a powerful testament to Saprid’s remarkable versatility. Painted in 1996, this watercolor work showcases a relatively calm and peaceful side of Saprid’s artistry. Gone are his horses and tikbalangs’ fierce expressions, and instead, his nimble hands and brushwork portray a tranquil scene by the shore—short waves touch the rock formations while children play in the sand, all under a clear, blue sky.
