Making a composition that merges figure and environment, and blurring the boundaries between the figure, her surroundings, and symbolic objects. Illustrated in a muted color palette of ochres and grays, the pieces depict a figure wearing a feminine dress (vaguely resembling a Filipiñana) as she sits on the edge of long, horizontal seats most commonly found in churches and chapels, with other people sitting beside or across from her. Showcasing Malang’s preference to portray Filipino Culture and everyday life through his artworks.
