His works, a testament to his remarkable\nversatility and technical expertise, include a diverse collection of multicolored impressionist landscapes and\nstill lifes created with oil, pastel, and acrylics, as well as graphite and charcoal drawings. Even so, it was his\npolychromatic paintings, made with a meticulous employment of impressionistic strokes, blotches, and smudges\nof paint, that truly set him apart from his contemporaries. This artistic technique produced works with highly\ntextured surfaces and a wide variety of color combinations, earning dela Rosa the distinction of being one of the\nkey figures in the rise of impressionism in the Philippines.
