With the muted grays and blacks punctuated by areas of ocher and pale white, together with the light shade striking against the darker part of the piece to reflect the title itself, Albor’s piece can be interpreted as a meditation about the relationship between light and darkness, with the light trying to emerge from the obscuring shade of the dark. His use of light and shadow palettes from the piece suggests a philosophical interpretation regarding inner clarity, insight, or spiritual awakening. Making the piece a meditative abstraction, which the artist is known for.
