A multi-faceted artist—painter, performer, photographer, and writer—Avellana-Cosio has mounted more than three dozen solo exhibitions and participated in over two hundred fifty group shows in the Philippines and abroad. Her practice, marked by precision and restraint, has earned her critical recognition and inclusion in international listings, such as The International Who’s Who of Women (1992) and Top 100 Artists (2017).  <br /><br />The present work exemplifies Avellana-Cosio’s refined command of hard-edged abstraction, a style she helped pioneer among Filipina artists. Executed in muted tonal bands of beige, umber, and ochre, the composition achieves a quiet architectural order through calibrated relationships of line, plane, and proportion. Its surface, devoid of overt gesture, reveals a meditative rhythm of construction—each form carefully balanced against another to evoke structure, silence, and light.
