Displaying his Filipino sensibilities, he depicted a young woman dressed in a traditional Filipiniana, her honey-brown complexion radiating amidst the colors around her. She was fashioned in an undeniable Malang style—long neck, thick limbs, and taut expression, rendered in a colorful palette. Her posture exudes a poised, ladylike aura. Even so, Malang's portrayal and use of polychromatic hues contrasted her meek demeanor and brought out the rather gleeful nature of the Filipinos.
