Here, he takes the age-old idea of still-life and proceeds to turn it on its head, creating works that are as recognizable as they are fresh, a culmination of his Modernist sensibilities.

This particular work deconstructs the familiar sight of a still-life and transforms it into an abstract lens. This cluster of almost unidentifiable fruits is placed in front of a window, reduced to their most basic geometrical shapes, and arranged with a distinct spatial awareness.

As such, Ang makes these common sights into novel ideas. That, combined with his unorthodox color schemes and irreverent fragmentations, exemplifies the artist’s ingenious transformation of the conventional art scene, rendering his works absolute for the decades to come.
