Gorospe also started his own gallery in Mabini where he met artists Roger San Miguel and Francisco Ello; they were later on called as the Mabini Triumvirate. Philippine Art Gallery (PAG) founder Lydia Arguilla is among the prominent collectors who took notice of Gorospe’s paintings. His works were of crayons, watercolor, and oil, and he admired painters Serafin Serna, Salvador Cabrera, and Angelito Antonio.<br /><br /> Also called the “Picasso of the Philippines”, Gorospe’s works are inspired by the influential Cubist, but it should also be noted that he shifted from one style to another, from semi-abstract to abstract, in his artistic career.
