Paco was a self-taught artist. His relentless determination to master his craft led him to explore different mediums, such as crayons and watercolor, before settling on oil. The scenery he saw and his experiences during his several years of stay in the Visayas and Mindanao regions greatly influenced his art and connected him deeply to the rich cultural heritage of the Philippines. His admiration for the southern tribes’ colorful attire, culture, and simple lifestyle was reflected in his subsequent paintings, which depicted local folks, mother and child, market scenes, animals, and landscapes. Moreover, Paco’s sophisticated color sense, artistic passion, and determination all contributed to the formation of his distinguished art style.
