Whether it be still-life or landscapes, they still contain the artist’s rural memories and the nostalgia that makes up his unique visual language. Though this piece deviates from his figurative style, Baldemor’s Filipino tendencies still shine through his usage of colors. The vivid hues, reminiscent of the banderitas that color a town’s festivals, evoke the rich Filipino culture that has already been established and has set itself apart.
