The first is a woeful-looking knight wearing laurel leaves like a pair of horns, in the white shirt and trousers favored by Manila’s gentlemanly elite in the 1950s. His horse resembles a plump Pegasus, the winged horse. The “ Created on the reverse of a restaurant menu card — the Taverna Vasca on the Escolta\" suggests it is a souvenir of the meal Zóbel and Legarda shared.
