With its scene feeling abandoned or even violated while the title speaks to a designer’s delight, Aguinaldo’s masterpiece introduces an irony between a curated deterioration of the interior and an aesthetically beautiful title—creating a decaying image that exposes the gap between design and reality that invites viewers to look closely and inspect a private, intimate space that has been stripped of its dignity.
