It is with this inspiration that Del Castillo perhaps got his predominant usage of gold in his works, with the metal and the hues permeating the empire’s iconoclasm. \n\nDel Castillo’s Scott, while eschewing the artist’s usual usage of gold as the background, puts the hues in the feline’s alert eyes. With its ears flat on its face, the cat stares at something off in the distance, poised and prepared in a hunter’s pose. Here, Del Castillo captures the audience with just a stare, captivating them with a gilded, guarded mystique.
