His works are deeply influenced and intertwined with the techniques and styles of Western Baroque artists, particularly those by Caravaggio and Rembrandt. This influence is particularly evident in Alarcon’s use of lighting and composition. Yet the artist also seemingly subverts this tradition by layering his works with splashes of brightly colored paint, an act that can be seen as a form of creative subversion that contrasts with his pieces’ more controlled elements.
