His first show at La Solidaridad Gallery was followed by more than 60 shows in his lifetime in the best Philippine galleries including Hidalgo, Quad, Kamalig, Luz, Jeune, Micaller and Galerie Bleue. Prizes and awards he received included the CCP 13 Artists Award, Rotary Club Art Tilt and the Araw ng Maynila Heritage Award.<br /><br /> Ibarra is the foremost exponent of meticulous impressionism in the Philippines. He is a former member of the PWU Art Faculty. He was primarily influenced creatively by the 1960s wherein it was an explosive decade internationally, witnessing a proliferation of modernist philosophies and trends that made him the leading artist for the start of Neo-Impressionism in the Philippines.<br /><br /> Dela Rosa has given a new magical brand of art through his stylized rendition of landscapes that are impressionistic in nature, bordering on the surreal. He is renowned for his keen attention to detail that had helped him forge a degree of elegance into his captivation creations that indeed captures the pictorial technique of Neo-Impressionism where color pigments are no longer mixed either on the palette or directly on canvas, but instead placed as small dots side by side.
