His bright childhood in Montalban, surrounded by nature; the dark, traumatic events of the Japanese Occupation; and the picturesque landscapes of France all contributed to the composition of his images. But regardless of his location or the prevailing art styles, Sansó has, as Alfredo Roces writes in his monograph, Sansó, \"single-mindedly worked at his own craft\" and \"persisted with his own personalized figurative approach.\" His artistry and gradual rise to the art scene are products of his own talent and determination.

A mix of vivid and smudged appearance, Tide in Repose is a testament to Juvenal Sansó's mastery and artistic skills. This 1960s piece features a hushed scenery with mossy outcrops reflected in the clear waters and three fishing boats. The moon is rising, gradually painting the sky blue. The last bits of sunlight touch the rock formations, casting a golden glow that accentuates their details.

Sansó's visual narratives blend beauty with a sense of disturbing uneasiness, invariably influencing the viewer's psyche. The cool-toned palette, tranquil waters, and dimming light in this 1960s painting evoke a soothing atmosphere that offers comfort after a tiring day. The quiet scene's emotional impact lies in its ability to gently lull viewers into a state of calm, highlighting Sansó's skill in balancing serenity with underlying tension.
