He found solace with pencil and paper, drawing for hours to no end to ease his boredom. This marked the beginning of Legaspi’s passion for the arts and a lasting legacy that touched many hearts and inspired artists to continue honing their crafts. He takes pride in his depictions of the human body, whether realistic or abstract. This 1985 Nude, for example, departs from his renowned fragmented torsos. Instead, this pastel on paper work vividly captures a female figure. She is sitting sideways, with her hand in her hair and her knee tucked to her chest, as she stares at her naked reflection in the mirror.
