With layered transparency and geometric construction, Tabuena attempts to reflect the unity of the artist and his instrument by presenting a soft, fragmented image of a musician with his instrument— echoed through overlapping geometric planes that interlock to form the body, the instrument, and the background space. The art itself invites an introspective viewing, as its meaning unfolds not just from the image but through the subtle relationship between shapes, tones, and layers.
