Drawing inspiration from the romantic and the magical, Obemio’s works often center around the many forms of love — in this case, the love between siblings. Here, Obemio portrays the titular twin perched atop a tree, each of their bikes leaning against the trunk as they sit on the branches above playing their instruments. His famous rotund figures add a sense of childish whimsy in this piece, as though this scene is lifted straight out of a fairytale book. His humorous, witty, and romantic works resonate with his Filipino audiences, whose inclinations align with Obemio’s particular brand of art philosophy.
