Transforming a seemingly simple and mundane task into a quiet, dignified moment. By turning the ordinary image of an everyday household activity into a dignified celebration of the everyday lives of Filipinos, each of his featured artworks became a timeless reminder that quiet strength and resiliency often hide beneath the most mundane of tasks. Instead of idealizing the female figure, he instead focuses on the representation of the subject’s labor—providing homage to the countless women whose unseen labor sustains families and communities.
