Ocampo, became known for his magnificent abstract and organic visual language that redefined Philippine art. His work combined innovation with a distinct Filipino sensibility, revolving around themes of nature and biological growth, transformation and evolution, and the harmony between organic forms and abstractions. Even in simple sketches, his renowned confined and flowing lines reflect his lifelong fascination with organic movement and simplified forms. His contributions made him recognized as one of the country’s natural artists in the visual arts.
