Reflecting his artistic mastery of traditional representational painting while demonstrating his sensitivity to color, texture, and composition, San Miguel often combines realism with impressionistic handling of paint, highlighting atmosphere over photographic precision.

Centering on the image of earthen jars and pottery arranged on patterned-texture bowls and a fruit, the artist creates a painting that celebrates the quiet dignity of everyday Filipino objects as they are arranged in a balanced and contemplative manner. The association of Erthjen jars with the storage of nourishment and the presence of the solitary fruit introduces a touch of vitality. Suggesting the belief that ordinary sense can possess lasting artistic value when observed with sensitivity and technical skill.
