Centered on a large face of a saint with striking blue eyes that look straight beyond the canvas, the central figure is surrounded by hands formed in different positions typical of saints, as well as a figure resembling the Sacred Heart on the right side. Rather than presenting a literal religious image, Angeles uses religious iconography in a surrealist manner to explore spirituality and its effects on one’s self-identity and values. Encouraging viewers to reflect on how faith, deviation, and personal experience affect one’s inner life.
