By combining realistic rendering with surreal composition, Dela Cruz’s central image of a child sitting atop a carabao as explosions of colorful toys and festive objects flood the mundane gray background successfully conveys the celebration of childhood optimism and the universal desire to dream beyond one’s circumstances. The art itself resonates with everyone as an uplifting image of hope that every “Juan” can carry, one that can shape a better future.
