He depicts a tindero or a vendor, standing beside his wheeled stall. The man is currently cooking the fishball in hot oil as several sauces are lined up for his customers to choose for themselves.

Pishbol is a common scene for many ordinary Filipinos and, like many of Austria’s works, is an intimate exploration of cultural identity, heritage, and narrative. His works are unrepentantly and proudly Filipino, using bold brush strokes and bolder color schemes to depict the vivid nature of the country.
